Cross-Country Skiing Paradise Faistenau
A holiday in Faistenau at Hintersee is the ideal starting point for numerous winter activities. In addition to ski tours, tobogganing and snowshoe hiking, the 60km cross-country ski trail is a particularly popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts.
The trails are very easy to ski on under normal weather and snow conditions, the descents are sunny and there are no steep climbs. A special highlight is the 5-kilometre-long Kugelberg night trail, which is illuminated every day until 9 p.m. and offers a skating track in addition to the classic cross-country ski trail.
This comprehensive winter sports offer is complemented by a very well-developed infrastructure: in addition to changing rooms, showers and waxing ramps, there are also several places to stop for refreshments and a rental shop with modern equipment.
Overview of Trails
The Faistenau loipe network starts at the sports stadium directly in the village and leads along the edge of the village into the Tiefbrunnau valley. With cross-country tracks ranging in difficulty from easy to moderately difficult, there is something for every cross-country skier. The mostly flat trails, which start in Tiefbrunnau at car park no. 3 (near the kindergarten) or no. 4, are particularly recommended for beginners.
